Giving Furniture a Second Life
At Black Mouse Furniture, every piece is restored with care, patience, and an artistic eye. I work with old and preloved furniture, transforming it into individual, functional pieces finished to a high standard — furniture made to be used and lived with again.
Each item is worked on by hand, and no two pieces are ever the same.
How We Work
Restoration is carried out using carefully selected papers, beeswax, and natural oils where possible. There’s a lot of time and elbow grease in every project, and harsh chemicals are kept to a minimum. This approach isn’t just about the finish — it’s about respect. For the furniture, for the materials, and for the environment.
Most pieces are sourced locally, and much of the furniture was originally made in the UK. Keeping things close to home helps reduce environmental impact while supporting well-made, long-lasting craftsmanship.
Character Over Perfection
These are preloved pieces, and they come with a history.
They’re not factory-perfect or straight out of a showroom — and that’s exactly the point.
Marks, quirks, and signs of age are part of their story. Wherever possible, the original wood and design are respected, keeping each piece true to its roots while giving it a fresh new purpose.
The aim is not to erase the past, but to honour it.
Delivery
Delivery is free within 30 miles of OL14.
For all other UK locations, delivery costs are calculated after purchase. At checkout, delivery will always appear as free — once your order is placed, we’ll be in touch to confirm delivery details and provide a separate delivery quote before arranging collection or delivery.
